David Leggio of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers intentionally knocks down his own net on a 2 on 0 breakaway knowing he has better odds of making a save on a penalty shot.  As a result the opponent gets  free penalty shot and the goalie a hall pass.

Goalies have to be held accountable and I think all hockey leagues should make a rule that if the goalie pushes the net down it is a free goal for the opponent.  The goalie technically cannot push down the net unless he is facing the net directly.  Most hockey players do not have the strength to push a net backwards with all the equipment they have on.
